It is with great sadness that we report the death of Councillor Patrick Sheard, ward councillor for Send. Patrick passed away on Friday 5 June.

Councillor Sheard was elected to Guildford Borough Council in May 2019, and was a member of the Guildford Greenbelt Group. Patrick was a member of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee and the Place Making and Innovation Executive Advisory Board, and will be greatly missed by his many colleagues and friends.

Cllr Caroline Reeves, Leader of the Council says: “I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Cllr Patrick Sheard. Patrick was an enthusiastic and dedicated ward councillor, elected only last year. All councillors valued his contributions to debates and conversations. His wisdom and ready wit will be missed by councillors and officers alike and we send our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.”
