Residents are again able to support each other with donations of fresh food to reduce waste and tackle food poverty in our borough, with the reopening of our Community Fridge at the Park Barn Centre.

After a year of being closed due to the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, our Fridge is now open to everyone Monday to Friday from 10am-3pm.

People can come to the centre to make donations of fresh food essentials and food is available for anyone to collect free of charge.

Director of Service Delivery, Ian Doyle says:

“We set up the Guildford Community Fridge to address food waste and food poverty in the borough and to encourage the local community to support each other with donations of fresh food.

“The Fridge will be stocked with a mixture of quality food items throughout the week including cupboard essentials, bakery items and fresh fruit and vegetables. We also welcome donations so if you have some extra fruit and vegetables left over that you don’t need, please drop it off at the Park Barn Centre during opening hours. We are very grateful for all your support.”

Free parking is available on-site, or bus routes 1, 4, 5, 17 goes past the centre. All visitors to the centre must wear a face covering and adhere to social distancing and follow government Coronavirus (Covid-19) regulations.
