Pairing Coffee & Chocolate What happens when coffee and chocolate meet?
You know what coffee tastes like. You know what chocolate tastes like. But have you ever really noticed what happens when you taste them together?
This month, Guildford Coffee Club brings coffee and chocolate together for a relaxed, hands-on tasting with Willem from Juthan Chocolate.
We’ll start with chocolate: a little journey from bean to bar, followed by an exploration of flavour and cocoa intensity. Using flavour wheels and a selection of chocolates, you’ll have the chance to taste, compare and put words to what you’re noticing.
Then we’ll bring coffee into the picture.
Taste the chocolate on its own. Then taste it with coffee. What changes? Does the coffee bring out something you didn’t notice before? Does the chocolate make the coffee taste sweeter, fruitier, deeper — or something completely unexpected?
There’ll be plenty of tasting and conversation, with the chance to compare what you notice with other people. There are no right answers and no previous knowledge needed — just curiosity and a willingness to taste.
If you joined us for Willem’s chocolate session in August, this is a different way of exploring what you’ve already discovered. If you’re new to Coffee Club, you can simply come along and join in.
Come for the coffee and chocolate. Stay for the conversation.
