'Welcome to Rainshadow City' an evening with Naomi Ishiguro in conversation with Alwyn Hamilton for the release of the first instalment in her new Studio Ghibli-inspired fantasy trilogy, The Rainshadow Orphans.
The first part of a captivating trilogy blending fantasy, science fiction and Japanese folklore from the author of Escape Routes, The Rainshadow Orphans leads readers into the the richly imagined titular town terrorised by criminal gangs, where three loyal friends seek to avenge the murder of their beloved 'aunt'.
Alwyn Hamilton was born in Toronto and spent her early years bouncing between Europe and Canada until her parents settled in France. She left France for Cambridge University to study History of Art at King’s College, focusing in on painting in the French Revolution. She then moved to London where she now lives and put her degree to use working for an auction house. She now writes full-time and REBEL OF THE SANDS was her first novel. @alwynhamilton on Tiktok
