Archaeology: An Introduction

This 12-week introductory course explores archaeological methods, terminology and practice, from the early development of the discipline to modern scientific techniques. Build practical skills through personal study, group discussion, field observation and a presentation, while gaining confidence in archaeological recording, excavation and fieldwork.
The course is divided into two parts, and students must complete both to be eligible for the 2027 excavation project. This listing is for Part 1 only.
