Why these acts of Remembrance are even more poignant this year This year we marked the 80th anniversary of when the Second World War came to an end on:
Victory in Europe Day (VE Day) Victory in Japan Day (VJ Day) Cllr Julia McShane, Leader of the Council said: "Remembrance Sunday brings our communities together to pay tribute to the sacrifices made by our Armed Forces over generations.
"We also remember the families who have supported them, the emergency services, and all those affected by conflict and terrorism."
Cllr Stephen Hives, Armed Forces Champion, added: "Our acts of Remembrance offer us a moment to pause, remember, and express our deepest gratitude. They help to make sure that the sacrifices of those who served are never forgotten. "We honour those who gave their lives in service and reflect on the courage of those still serving today."
