Open Stage is a creative, welcoming youth theatre group for young people with learning disabilities aged 11–17yrs. Taking place on Saturdays during term time, this supportive group is designed for young people who would like to explore drama, build confidence, make friends and have fun in a relaxed theatre environment.
What to expect:
Weekly drama workshops led by an experienced practitioner, with activities adapted to support different access requirements, communication styles and confidence levels Playful theatre games, movement, storytelling, improvisation and creative tasks, delivered at a pace that works for the group A friendly space to develop confidence, social skills, self-expression and teamwork Opportunities to share creative ideas, try new performance skills and celebrate each young person’s achievements A calm, positive and inclusive environment where no previous drama experience is needed Small-group sessions (12 max) with space for young people to feel comfortable, supported and able to take part in their own way This group is ideal for young people with learning disabilities and/ or additional needs who are curious about theatre, enjoy being creative, or would benefit from a supportive space to grow in confidence. Participants can join in at their own pace, with encouragement from our team and a focus on enjoyment, creativity and connection.
