About The Role Exciting opportunity for a Support Worker based in Mulberry House, our supported housing service in Guilford.

At Salvation Army Homes we are dedicated to providing comprehensive, good quality housing services, support and resettlement.

  • The Support Worker will work with people who are or have recently experienced homelessness and who are in need of support and accommodation. As a support worker you will need to:
  • Get to know and build the trust of our clients
  • Unlock our clients’ potential to live independently
  • Enhance their social integration by encouraging participation in social and leisure programmes,
  • Help residents with their support needs and with the practicalities of everyday living.

You will need to:

  • Be a confident and capable communicator
  • Be able to build trusting, professional relationships
  • Be able to help people to develop their skills, strengths and talents.
  • Have good knowledge or experience of working with homeless people, and / or supporting vulnerable people or groups,
  • Have a good idea of the wider community resources and organisations available to support our residents and be comfortable dealing with difficult or complex situations.
