Guildford Accessibility Guide Launches to Support Inclusive Access Across the Town

Experience Guildford is proud to support the development of a brand-new Accessibility Guide for Guildford, led by Andrew Crawte, a passionate advocate for inclusion and a long-standing member of the Guildford Access Group.

The project began in September 2024, with Andrew and the Experience Guildford team visiting businesses across the town centre to conduct accessibility surveys. The aim was to gather clear, practical information to help people with disabilities make informed decisions about where to shop, eat, and visit in Guildford.

Andrew, who has lived with Cerebral Palsy all his life said that he "hopes the guide will empower others by showcasing the town's inclusive features and support offered by local businesses who are happy to make reasonable adjustments to support accessibility.

His leadership and determination have been key in driving this initiative forward.

Emma White, Town Safety Liaison Officer for Experience Guildford, shared her excitement for the project: _"It’s a great initiative, and I’m glad to be part of it. Information is key to helping people make informed decisions,_🙌 Thank you to all the organisations who have welcomed us so far and committed to making Guildford a more inclusive town.

The guide is now available to view, download and print via the Experience Guildford website and will be updated regularly as more businesses take part.
