A reception at the Houses of Parliament saw Guildford beat 68 other UK towns, to be crowned Best Bar None, Best Scheme 2024.

Best Bar None is a Home Office recognised national accreditation scheme which celebrates the good working practice of licensed venues. It tests to prove that hospitality venues are operationally compliant by assessment of their policies, procedures, training, risk assessments, safety and welfare of staff and customers.

Pete Lambert, Town Safety and Venue Liaison Manger for Experience Guildford and Guildford Best Bar None scheme co-ordinator accepted this award. He commented:

'A huge thanks and congratulations goes to all our Guildford participating venues who grow in number and confidence every year taking the Best Bar None assessment. It is your work and dedication over the last 10 years to prove the very best working practice that helps to make Guildford a safe, vibrant town to come to.

Special congratulations must go to Guildford's overall winners, The Guildford Jubilee Social Club.'

Peter Lambert was accompanied by The Guildford Jubilee Club, Emma White of Experience Guildford and Guildford MP Angela Richardson.
