**Town Safety & Venue Liaison Manager for Guildford, Pete Lambert, was one of several local people to be nominated as a Surrey Anti-Violence Champion.

This important award was given in recognition of Pete’s commitment to rejecting violence and aggressive behaviour and educating others to do the same.

Pete is employed by Experience Guildford and works closely with partnership organisations to identify and implement schemes to tackle violence and anti-social behaviour in Guildford town centre, ensuring the town is a safe and vibrant place to visit.

Pete was one of a select few experts to take part in a panel presentation, including Noelle Coe from Guildford Street Angels, a delegate from Surrey Police, Jane Lyons from Guildford Pubwatch and Ian Forward, Director of Casino Nightclub. The panel at a Knife Angel Seminar at Guildford Cathedral was to showcase efforts which support and enhance the evening and late-night economy. This panel was attended by members of the public, local businesses, Council Officials and The High Sheriff of Surrey.

The discussions were very well received and showed the continuous hard work which goes on behind the scenes to keep Guildford a fantastic place for a safe night out. **
