Rosa’s Thai, the popular Thai restaurant group, will open its doors on Friary Street in Guildford on Monday 5th February. To celebrate, Rosa's Thai will hold a soft launch offering 50% off food to all guests who book a table between 23rd January and 4th February. Rosa’s Thai was co-founded by Saiphin and Alex Moore in 2008, bringing Saiphin’s Thai cooking to London’s East End. Saiphin’s love for serving Thai food started at a young age, when at just 14 she opened a noodle shop in Khao Kho, Thailand using produce from her parents’ farm. She then moved to Hong Kong where she opened a restaurant and spent 18 years honing her culinary skills, before relocating to London and opening a market stall with Alex on Brick Lane in 2007. One year later they took over the nearby Rosa’s Cafe in Spitalfields, inheriting its name because they didn’t have the means to change it at the time. The name stuck, and 15 years later there are 38 Rosa’s Thai restaurants across the UK. Guests to Rosa’s Thai can expect an unfussy yet exciting menu with ingredients sourced directly from family-owned businesses in Thailand. Highlights on the menu include Saiphin's feasting starter platters, restorative drunken noodles and pork skewers with tamarind sauce. For vegetarians and vegans, dishes include stir-fried aubergine with yellow bean sauce, creamy tom ka coconut soup with Asian mushrooms, and hand-rolled vegetable spring rolls. To drink, guests can enjoy a dedicated menu of signature bubble teas and boozy Thai-inspired cocktails alongside Rosa’s house Thai-PA, ‘Mai Mao’ beers and Singha on tap.

Rosa’s Thai Guildford is located just a few moments from The Friary in the heart of the town. The 70-cover restaurant will showcase an array of collectables from Rosa’s history and rich brand heritage, adding a personal and eclectic charm. Floor to ceiling windows allow natural light to flood the space while planters and feature lighting add to the warm and vibrant ambiance. Outside, there will be a further 6 covers for al fresco dining in the warmer months.

Of the launch, CEO Gavin Adair says “I’m so pleased to be opening our doors in Guildford. It feels like somewhere we should already be! We can’t wait to get our woks fired up and start serving our amazing curries, noodles and stir-fries. What a great way to start the year. Sawaddee Bhee Mai Guildford!”
