Tunsgate Quarter Guildford, the 80,000 square foot retail, leisure and dining destination located in the heart of Surrey’s county town, is delighted to announce that the UK’s leading luxury watch and jewellery specialist, The Watches of Switzerland Group, has opened a TAG Heuer boutique in the scheme.
The Tunsgate Quarter TAG Heuer boutique will occupy one of the prime units in the covered shopping centre, fronting on to Guildford’s historic cobbled High Street.
Tunsgate Quarter is currently home to top lifestyle brands including The White Company, Nespresso, OKA and Bobbi Brown, attracting customers from a wide Surrey catchment. The slick and contemporary TAG Heuer Boutique covers 86 square metres and offers customers a fully immersive experience with individual customer stations with brand experts at hand, for trying on as well as an extensive front of boutique showcase for new launches and heritage pieces. Two entrances will welcome customers from both inside the covered shopping centre and from the High Street outside.
Claire Suggitt, Centre Manager, Tunsgate Quarter, comments:
“We are thrilled to be announcing the arrival of a new tenant as we approach the busy Christmas sales period. The TAG Heuer Boutique will be a welcome addition to our retail mix, offering a product that will perfectly complement our aspirational portfolio, with its combination of premium quality products and an exceptional shopping experience. Continued Suggitt: “This opening is also a terrific boost for the town, and we hope will inspire confidence in consumers as more and more people return to face-to-face retail in the run up to Christmas.”
Owned by Merseyside Pension Fund and asset managed by CBRE, Tunsgate Quarter opened in 2018 and offers a desirable range of high-end retail brands including Loaf, Design Vintage and Seasalt, plus eating establishments including an Ivy Brasserie and GAIL’s Bakery. Boutique gym operator GU1 Fitness fulfils the centre’s leisure option, supporting Tunsgate Quarter as an all-day destination with its gym and studio. The negotiating of The Watches of Switzerland deal was handled by leasing agent AS Retail.
AS Retail Director, Andrew Shepherd, comments:
“We are delighted that The Watches of Switzerland Group has chosen Tunsgate Quarter for the location of its newest boutique. TAG Heuer will complement the superb existing tenant mix and it’s a great asset to the scheme in the run up to Christmas.”
Continued Shepherd:
“We will be making further exciting announcements shortly about additional brands joining the line-up at Tunsgate Quarter, but we still have leasing opportunities remaining for retail, leisure and catering brands and are very open to quality independent operators as well as established chains, so please do get in touch with myself, or my joint agents BGP, to discuss availability.”
Tunsgate Quarter forms the heart of a £30.3 million redevelopment of Guildford’s historic Tunsgate area, and borders the cobbled High Street and the 11th century castle, as well as the pedestrianised Tunsgate with its collection of independent retailers.
