The Yvonne Arnaud Theatre is excited to announce its vibrant Summer 2022 season. With acclaimed theatre, award-winning dance performances and plenty of magical events for children and families gracing their stage, the theatre is livelier than ever.

The theatre is producing and touring nationally work in-house once more. The riotously funny Ladies of Letters (28 Apr – 7 May), a new stage adaptation of the much-loved long-running Radio 4 drama and ITV series, sees Only Fools and Horses stars Tessa Peake-Jones and Gwyneth Strong reunite on stage for the first time.

Other highlights include Katori Hall’s Olivier award-winning play following the last night of Martin Luther King Jr.’s life, The Mountaintop, (17 – 21 May); critically acclaimed comedy The Play What I Wrote (4 – 9 Jul) that features a mystery guest star at every performance; and Dr. John Cooper Clarke: I Wanna Be Yours (22 Jun), an evening of poetry with the legendary spoken word poet.

To complement the jam-packed programme of plays and drama, there will be a series of varied events from dance and stage magic to ventriloquism. The theatre is delighted to present two incredible dance performances: a contemporary ballet event brought to the stage by Ballet Central (24 Jun) and emotionally-charged Olivier award-winning hip-hop dance performance BLKDOG (10 May) from Botis Seva. America’s Got Talent winner Paul Zerdin brings a hilarious and technically immaculate ventriloquism show, Paul Zerdin: Hands Free (11 May), and four of The Magic Circle’s star magicians join forces in Marvels of Mystery (12 May), a new magic show for the whole family.

A range of events for families is just around the corner, including stage adaptations of Michael Morpurgo’s Private Peaceful (23 – 28 May) and Julia Donaldson’s The Gruffalo (15 & 16 Jul), as well as the delightful In The Night Garden Live (3 & 4 Jun)  full of puppetry and music.
