RIDING TOGETHER FOR MEN’S HEALTH
The 2022 Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride on Sunday, May 22nd is focused on bringing people together, encouraging folks to connect with their fellow gentlefolk and ride together. Community and social connections are vital for mental health, so this year will look to bring its global community together in over 700 cities and 100 countries in celebration of style, motorcycles, and men’s health. Together with Movember, The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride is dedicated to bringing communities together to raise awareness of prostate cancer and helping folks around the world make stronger and more meaningful connections.
Rider briefing and pep talk at 09:45 with the ride due to depart at 10:00. We will be taking a meandering route out through Burpham, Jacob’s We’ll, Sutton Green and Mayford etc. pausing at the Jolly Farmer at Puttenham (appx. 10:45) for a coffee break.
Resuming around 11:30 towards Farncombe, Godalming High Street, Witley and Wormley ending up at The Dog and Pheasant in Brook.
This is the 11th year worldwide of the Gentleman’s Ride and the 6th year for Guildford. Guildford has raised, to date, over £80,000 for men’s health, male suicide prevention and prostate cancer via this event. Worldwide over US$31.6m. It takes place on the same day worldwide in 105 countries and around 750 cities/towns.
It is a ride for veteran, vintage, classic, custom and retro motorcycles with the riders in ‘appropriate’ dress Think tweed and waistcoats rather than leathers!
All monies raised are from sponsorship via the DGR website with participants pre-registering. This goes to support the above causes via the Movember foundation.
