The news shapes the world around us and the way we make sense of it. We base our opinions and decisions on it. But have you ever wondered how media outlets decide what news is published? Or how local news stories are discovered?
This evening will be a lively celebration and discussion of regional news, its significance, and how the news process works. Join Mark Carter, Executive Producer and Presenter for BBC Radio Surrey; Emily Coady-Stemp, BBC local democracy reporter for Surrey Live & Surrey Advertiser; and Peter Gordon, Broadcaster & Media Consultant, best known as the face of Eagle Radio. The event will include a Q & A session for the audience to ask questions.
The panel event starts at 7pm so please arrive earlier to be seated. Refreshments will be available.
This event goes alongside the Breaking the News exhibition series, as part of our partnership with the British Library and the Living Knowledge Network. There will be time to view the exhibition before and after the event.
