ZERO Climate Cinema is taking a special festive break from the usual environmental documentaries to show the 2004 block buster disaster film – The Day After Tomorrow.
Winner of Best Film at the 2004 Environmental Media Awards and the BAFTA for Best Visual Effects. The Day After Tomorrow depicts catastrophic climatic effects following the disruption of the North Atlantic Ocean circulation. A series of extreme weather events usher in global cooling and lead to a new ice age as paleoclimatologist Jack Hall (Dennis Quaid) undertakes a dangerous trek to New York City to save his son (Jake Gyllenhaal) from the disaster.
